I have two large dogs (223lbs combined rottweilers) and this has held up quite well for the past 4 months of daily use and I feel as though it will continue to last for a very long time. With rope toys, often times they fray easily and look tattered within days due to my dogs. This rope toy has been absolutely fantastic. I like that the hand grip is plastic and easy for me to hold onto while playing with the dogs. Our last few rope toys either has had a rubber hand grip or no grip at all. This isn't the cheap plastic, it is heavy construction and I am not worried about it breaking or becoming a choking hazard.UPDATE: Ordered Jan. 2016, handle finally broke (split in half, not shattered) September 2016. The dogs continue to love the rope and I'm going to replace this one with the same exact item. Overall, just can't beat it for $10 and if it takes two rottweilers 9+ months of daily rough play to damage it, I say it's a good product.

The rope is a different color, which I don't mind at all, but some might. This toy is very large and seemingly sturdy. We bought this type with the handle because our dog (60 lb pitbull who is a big baby and loves to play, but doesn't know his own strength yet) will sometimes get a finger or two into his bite when he goes to get the rope when we pull it away. With this, we are hoping that that won't be the case because he'll be going for the rope instead of the handle. So far so good on that front. The reason why I gave this product 4 stars in stead of 5 is because the handle was cracked when I removed it from the box. The box was undamaged, which means that the product was packaged and shipped already broken. Which kind of stinks, but it is still usable. Had I known that this might be the case, I wouldn't have wasted $10 bucks, but not worth the effort of returning. We'll use as-is.Other than the handle, this toy is great and would get 5 stars if it had arrived undamaged.

Here's the thing - it's a fact that all rope toys are basically made out of the same material. the difference with this one is that although it's the same material, it's a better price. We try to rotate many toys with our Boxer-Lab pup, Stoli, and he can certainly destroy a rope toy in a couple of hours if that's all he's got to entertain himself. But we've had this specific one for a couple of weeks now, and although it didn't take him too long to undo one end, he seems to really be challenged with this one vs. other knot style ropes that we've gotten him. I'm purchasing a few more, you really can't beat this price unless you want an indestructible toy -- then, I would suggest going to a supply store where they sell the type of rope that ties up ships. :)

Our puppy loves many other toys more than this one, so it has lasted 6 months already due to little use. I think maybe the knots were too big for his mouth when he was a teething puppy but now that he's 6 months old he pulls it out more frequently to chew on. It has decent weight to it too so now he is finally big enough to pick it up easily. I don't think it's a good fetching toy since it would hurt to accidentally get hit with it but it's great for at night when we are all relaxing and he wants to chew while supervised. It still looks brand new but if he ever actually is able to tear it apart I would probably buy another one.

This is a great rope for the price. Big, heavy, and sturdy. My 7 month old GS is loving it. 4 stars due to the long frays at the end of the ropes. The puppy wants to pull the ends apart and make a mess on the floor. I plan on cutting the ends short so she can't do this. Also, the handle in the middle should be made of a hard rubber (like a Kong toy) instead of plastic. It gets almost sharp where the puppy has chewed on it. I will definitely order this again.

My dog is about 65 lbs. and ripped apart every other little rope I got him until this one! The only reason I gave this 4 stars was because it came in a purple/neon pink/black color instead of the one displayed. No biggie just weird.
