okay, a couple years after posting a "meh" review, I'm changing my tune. the PB aspect was always handy, but since my Eskimo got diagnosed with SLO & put on a restricted diet --no PB, no pizzles, no chew toys that he wants to chew on-- this thing has gained major importance in the household. It still gets zero stars as a chew toy, but I can fill it with his canned prescription rabbit diet or sweet potatoes, or (for more interest) one at each end-- & freeze. Then it definitely takes up some of the time he used to spend chewing on his beloved pizzles. So, anyone with a dog on a restricted diet might consider it as something fun & tasty for them to occupy themselves with for a few minutes, since you can fill it with whatever your particular patient can eat.totally irrelevant, but he makes the most hilarious sucking noises to get the last teeny bits out...sounds like a baby with a bottle.old post:My dog doesn't show any interest in chewing on this; he just doesn't like plain rubber. This is very handy as a peanut butter receptacle though; I fill both ends with PB & it keeps him occupied for 5-10 minutes, especially if I pop it in the freezer.

We have a pit bull mix and we have tried all sorts of chew toys, from knuckle bones to all sorts of supposedly "indestructible" chew toys. Items lasted between 10 min, and one week. We ran across the Bionic Bone and couldn't be happier, and he loves it. It is about 2/3 gone (after more than a month!), but we can still fit at least one treat inside. It was important to us that the material is made from FDA food grade materials (unlike many dog toys), also it does not cause excessive drooling like some items (which came make a major mess of the carpet...). Finally, the price is very reasonable compared to many of the other items we tried. So, just in time for Christmas, we bought him a new one to be placed in his stocking,

This is THE BEST dog toy. My two dobermans (60lb, 80lb) chew these like there's no tomorrow. I've had one for a year and a half, and other than the teeth marks, it looks pretty darn good. I purchased another one (so each dog can have one) and am really happy I did. I wouldn't say they're indestructible (nothing is!) but they are as close as it gets.

Puppy loves this! She can't quite figure out how to get treats that have made their way deep into this (she's not a very strong chewer, but does like to try to figure it out) but sometimes even just chews it for fun without anything inside it. It's very strong and can withstand a lot of use. I am also a pet-sitter and one of my clients has a Weimeraner that they give these to, filled with frozen peanut butter...that dog LOVES these and never seems to damage them. I haven't been able to successfully get PB into this and freeze it yet, since I think my PB is too oily, so make sure you're using something thicker if you want it for that reason.

My Maltese loves chewing on plastic toys, but he destroys all the Petstages blue orka toys within an hour. This toy is very thick and he hasn't been able to bite off little chunks. I'm not sure if this would last very long with a big dog that's an aggressive chewer, but it's the perfect size for small/medium dogs and could work for larger dogs that aren't aggressive chewers.
