This was seriously the BEST purchase I've made for my dog in a LONG time. I followed the instructions to introduce the item to my pet--both in the on and off mode. I put the device against her side so she could feel the vibration and lessen the startling nature that could affect her. She laid right down, gave me her paw, and was so incredibly peaceful during the whole process!I was super nervous about clipping her nails because I didn't want to clip in the wrong angle and make them sharper...and have to clip further down and risk making her nails bleed. The PediPaws trimmer acts like a mega-filer, with a guard that allows you to put your pets nail down against the sandpaper as it whirls away. It's super safe for the pet and owner.I highly recommend it!

I'm so happy with this purchase I had to go ahead and write a review. I have a Chowbradore who absolutely refuses to let anyone clip her claws. I can only assume there has been great pain in the past when they have been clipped by myself or the groomer because anytime I get the nail clippers out she would fight me tooth and nail and scream as if someone was trying to skin her alive. I was very apprehensive about the positive reviews here with the PediPaws because she is just an overall jumpy dog as well when it comes to noises. So I got the 2 C batteries this morning after just leaving the device beside her bed for a day. I loaded the batteries & turned it on to find it only makes a med hum. I'd say the grooming sheers are much louder than this thing. I then as she sat there staring at me rubbed it over my own arms & legs to show her it didn't hurt me... & trust me she watched closely! I then ran it over her sides, legs, head, & paws while it was on & she did not even flinch! Amazing! She typically heads for the hills with any new sound let alone experience. It went so well touching the paws with it I inserted a nail & she just laid there & looked at me! Total miracle! We just filed all her front nails & will have to work on them again tomorrow. Her poor nails were so long they were turning her toes, so this was purchased out of desperation! It came w/ 1 sanding disk attache'd & 3 extras in the box. I wish I would of gotten this year's ago! No moRe WWE smack down to TRY to clip her claws. I'm very impressed & relieved thanks to PediPaws.

I'm not quite sure why there are so many negative comments concerning this product but it clearly states in the instructions that your dog has to first get acquainted with the nail trimmer.I have a Jack Russell and if anyone knows that breed, then they understand just how restless and hyper they are. When I first purchased the Pedipaws, I left it in his bed with him for a few days which allowed him become comfortable with the fact that this was going to become a part of his life. (Sounds silly but it's the truth.) I would turn the Pedipaws on and allow him sniff it while it vibrated and hummed and would place it on his legs so he grew accustomed to the feeling and would know that it wouldn't hurt him. After a few days of getting him used to the Pedipaws, I took him in my lap and proceeded to file his nails. NEVER ONCE did I have a problem nor did he struggle. He slumped in my arms and relaxed while I trimmed all of his nails. I've been using this for months now and my Jack Russell has never given me trouble. Not every dog is going to react as well as mine did. Just like not everyone is okay with an electric toothbrush. I myself cannot stand them. Doesn't mean they don't work! You need to give your dog some time to get used to it before you try it out on him/her and then allow a few trial trims before coming to the conclusion that Pedipaws is a piece of garbage and doesn't work. Because it does! If your dog is comfortable and allows it. If not, then that doesn't mean the product is terrible, it means that your dog just doesn't like it.Overall, I give Pedipaws 5 stars because I am still using it and have purchased replacement files multiple times due to the fact that I've used the previous ones up.
