I will be purchasing our third flappy for our dog for Christmas. Our first flappy was a gift for our previous dog, who played with it for a couple of years. Sadly, she passed away almost 2 years ago. When we rescued our current dog, we pulled this out of our bin of old dog toys. It quickly became Bruce's favorite toy. He, being a much younger and rowdier dog, would play with this toy several times a day, racing around the house and shaking it. He loved playing tug of war until he finally destroyed it. He got a new one for Christmas last year, and it lasted until October with daily play.

Well-constructed for any sized dog. It's always interesting to read that purchasers are disappointed that their dog tears at the toy. destroys it, and pulls out the stuffing and squeaker. Ahem...the squeaker is exactly what attracts the dog to the toy, and the goal is to get at it! This is not a toy for a dog who just wants to chew and tear, unless you don't mind purchasing a few of these per year. It IS durable enough for a few weeks of "guided" chewing, i.e. allowing the dog a certain amount of time per day. It's best for throwing, retrieving, then a bit of tug-o-war. Dogs like to shake the toy so that the flaps make noise and movement. The squeaker won't last long with a big dog chomping down on this, but my English Mastiff, 185 pounds (using the extra large Flappy that is no longer sold on Amazon) still enjoys grabbing the flappy and running around with it in his mouth, hoping we'll try to take it from him. These make great gifts for the granddoggies in the family.

One of my dogs' favorite toys, this is the 2nd one I've bought. They live the squeaker and the little strips that slap them in the face when they shake it. Not the most durable, but still worth it
