My 1 year old German Shepherd has had this egg since he was 4 months old and STILL LOVES to play with it like it's brand new!! It is the ONLY toy we've had survive his crazy puppy chewing/destroying and it's also the ONLY toy he is so excitedly vocal about. He would play with it ALL day if I'd let him (although I don't think our neighbors would be so keen with all his playful barking/whining at it). He's managed to make several grooves with his nails/teeth in the hard plastic but hasn't actually punctured through yet. Needless to say, if he ever does manage to destroy it, we will be buying another in a heartbeat. Thank you Jolly Pets! We love our egg!!

I had high hopes for the Jolly Egg. My boy was having fun with his "Best Ball - 10 inch" and I thought this one would keep him moving because of the shape. And it worked...for a while.I can't say it is a failure, but it definitely isn't for a large dog with a wide/large mouth. This would eliminate Pits and Bullies. And it's a shame because it was a real energy drainer while it lasted. If you have a dog who likes to chase and/or play with balls, AND doesn't have a large mouth, then this should work great for you. Otherwise look somewhere else.Use the video to compare with you dog.Good luck.UPDATE March 12, 2012: It's still holding it's shape. It's really beat up, but he hasn't broken it yet. Bumped the rating up to 4 stars.

Our 40lb. Pit mix absolutely wore herself OUT after only about 20 minutes with this Baby! She'll chew through a new toy in a heartbeat but the Jolly Egg is too big to fit in her mouth and too slick to get a good grip on. I'd have to say this toy is a KEEPER! We'll be using it in the fenced in back yard so she can have a free run with it. The large size is perfect for her because it'll fit right under the belly and that drives her crazy! If you've got a medium sized dog, go for the Large one, you and your pup won't regret it! "Let the Games Begin!"

We ordered the Jolly Egg because we had purchased the Jolly Push N Play years ago and our boxer loved it. She would push it around the yard for hours. We have a Vizsla puppy now that is just as high strung and toy damaging (I think more so)as our Boxer was but she likes things that puzzle her as much as she enjoys destroying things. Both the Jolly Egg and the Jolly Push N Play are solid hard plastic. The main purpose of both these items is that they are too big, too solid and too smooth for the dogs to pick up with their mouths so they push them around the yard for hours keeping themselves occupied. Both my Vizsla and Boxer had the ability to carry soccer balls in their mouths with no problems. The 8" & 6" Push N Play were perfect in size and the large Egg. The medium egg is more funny to watch them play with because every once in awhile the Vizsla will actually get it in her mouth start running back to us because she is so excited and it will squirt out the side of her mouth and she has to start all over. When it happens she just stops and looks at us like we were the cause of her loosing it because it could not have possibly been here.I will post a video of both items if I get a chance.Jolly Pets Jolly Egg Dog Toy Medium Yellow

We have two pitbulls; one is 59 pounds and one is 79 pounds. Both absolutely love this toy! Our smaller guy could play with this for hours... and even though he's figured out how to pin it down, the 12-in egg is still too big for him to get a grip on it for more than 10 seconds or so. He wears himself out with this toy and is all smiles the entire time. Our big guy (who has a bigger head and mouth) loves it too; however, he's the reason I've given this 4 stars instead of 5. He quickly figured out how to pin this down and bite it, and due to his size, he's actually able get his mouth around it and sink his teeth into the egg, puncturing the plastic. He has to be monitored more closely with this, and we have to chase him with it and try to get it out from under his paws for it to provide more "active" play. If the company would introduce a 16-in egg, I'm sure I'd give it 5 stars! I t think it's just a little too small for a big headed dog. All-in-all a great purchase for a decent price. Perhaps our 79-pound boy would do better with a round jolly ball.

UPDATE 3/26/15: Not so indestructible. Today is day 3 of my dogs' pure enjoyment with the eggs. But one of my GSDs has managed to puncture the egg all the way around. So much for my thinking they'd never be able to pick it up. My female can pick it up and carry it! Incredible! Greatly disappointed as this seemed like the perfect toy. $15 for a toy that lasted barely three days. Will be contacting seller.Within 5 minutes of receiving the two jolly eggs, my two German Shepherds were totally engrossed and enthusiastically playing with them. Not only are they having a blast, but they're getting great exercise moving and chasing these eggs all around the yard. They are so enthralled that when we called them to come in, they both laid down next to their eggs! They are both obedience trained and always come on the recall command! It was funny to see them lay down in unison, panting, looking at us as if to say 'no, we're not done'! Also, there's no way they will ever be able to pick them up!
