Chew guard is chew bait. This toy only lasted 24 hours before having to be tied back together. The squeakers were gone within minutes and the fluffing was torn out in an hour. I like these toys but chew guard is just a marketing ploy, they don't last any longer.

I love these monkeys. Previously I had bought the purple one and it lasted a month before my dog tore through it and she continued to play with the pieces for about 3 months. My dog loves to chew and when I get a new toy she always wreaks havoc on it. So I've learned to give her the toy briefly, then put it away and wait a day. Then I do it again and slowly increase the time. I think she starts to love the toy more and so is less likely to destroy it. She is also calmer with toys she's already been exposed to. Before I started doing this she would tear through chew guard toys in a day or so.My favorite thing about these monkeys is the tug of war feature. She can grab one foot and I can grab another and when she tugs she feels like she's making progress to steal it from me because of the sliding legs. Then I switch to the opposite foot and the game continues to be fun. I also love that these toys have 5 squeakers total! More squeakers than most the others of this brand at a similar price. This is by far my favorite soft toy for my pup. If you leave your dog alone with any new soft toy, they're gonna destroy it. The chew guard helps with durability over time, so if that's what your looking for, focus on training your pet using short exposure time with new toys. Help them lower their level of excitement when playing with the toy. If they expend all their energy in one sitting, then of course they'll destroy it, regardless of chew guard. As a product, these are far more durable than any other soft toy I've found.

This is Ace's go to toy for dealing with frustration. He's a 14 month old Standard Schnauzer. He tosses it in the air, chews its tail, whips it around and pretends like it's fighting back. He looks like he's having fun, but he's a lover, not a fighter. If your dog likes to rip stuffed animals to shreds, I would say do yourself a favor and buy toys that have no stuffing.UPDATE: 10 MONTHS LATER ... this monkey is still Ace's favorite toy. Ace gives him a good work out a couple of times a week and he's survived four or five spins in the washer (air-dried only). He still looks like new!

Our 5 month old Pug loves his green monkey! We bought the same exact one at a chain pet store just before Newman joined our household 3 months ago, and we paid 2x as much for it. We play tug with it, he sleeps with it and he carries it around by its little ears. Oh and it's machine washable! Recently our little Pug had a surgical procedure done and we decided to get him another monkey, and low and behold, we found it right here on Amazon for $11.00! Our little monster is quite the chewer, but his first green monkey is still intact, just the ears are getting frayed from his chewing bouts. He is a puppy after all! We just had to sew a small section that got separated from tugging too hard. It seems like the dogs whose GoDog toys were destroyed within hours and days have some aggression issues, but that's just one person's opinion. We hope you decide to buy the large lime green monkey for your pampered pooch after reading this review!

My dog, Hans, can destroy almost any toy, but this one is holding up beautifully. It's still in perfect condition and he plays with it daily

This toy is the Bomb; it is the Purple Orangutan ~ not a Sasquatch. At least that is my take on it. My Dogue de Bordeaux cannot seem to find the destroy button. She has destroyed everything else within a day or two, including the Go Dog Checkers Skinny Rooster by the same manufacturer (in like 5 minutes) and the Yoga Dog pink Pig which took a few days for total destruction. The P.O. has been in her possession since May 3rd and although covered with dried slime, is totally intact. And she loves it, carries it with her pretty much everywhere she goes. Gets her old destroyed toys out periodically just to show everyone she is a "badass". My only beef with this toy is that it is an orangutan, "not" a Sasquatch. So happy, my pup has a reliable companion...

Well everyone is looking for Sasquatch, figures Amazon would be the one to find him. My Golden Retriever loves this toy, his body has a squeaker as do his hands and feel. The arms and legs move, they slide, which makes it more fun for my dog. He can tug on the hand and the foot gets shorter so he can pull on it without wrecking it. And it made my husband laugh just to know that amazon found Sasquatch...Update: My 3 year old Golden Retriever has had this toy for months, he loves it, he loves the sliding feet. Reading other reviews of destroyed toys I am suddenly thinking my dog is soooo good! He has not torn this apart or even ripped it. He has destroyed a lot of toys but this one seems to last and last. He is hard on it, but even after several washings in the washing machine it is still looking new. So is it a good toy or a good dog? Hey I love my dog so i am going with good dog.
