★★★★★ Five StarsI saved my review for after one year of use by my border collie mix. The ball is in great shape after a year of heavy play. The word "coal" is gone but the rest of the ball is in great shape. This dog destroys tennis ball-like toys, ripping the cover off of them. With the Planet Dog balls (we have several) he doesn't try to destroy them. This is a great toy if your dog likes to play ball and is rough on toys. But some people said their dog ripped it up. Maybe if your dog gets its kicks destroying toys, it will destroy this one too. My dog destroys a lot of things (shoes, stuffed animals, other "indestructible" dog toys) but has not destroyed this ball in 12 months of active play.
★★★★★ Five StarsThis unassuming lumpy ball is tougher than you'd expect for something that feels somewhat pliable. It's fresh peppermint scent doesn't appear to be a deterrent to our spaniel (although it's no match for his rotten breath). The lettering did get washed/ scraped off rather quickly due to the dog's saliva and general gnawing on it, but it's minimal and I'm not terribly concerned about it. It's fairly bouncy and hollow, so we play with it in the house and outside. He really likes squeezing it (no squeaker, don't worry) and just kind of pumps his jaws on it. Anything to keep him occupied! The holes also prevent him from making a vacuum seal with his tongue, etc so I don't have to worry about oral injury - a major plus. Because it has holes, it makes a very soft almost-whistling sound when thrown (similar to the ChuckIt Whistler ball, but wayyyy quieter).I dropped a star for the lettering b/c I think the printing on the toy is unnecessary to begin with and the fact that it just rubs off with normal play is a bit of a waste. Company could just save itself some $ by skipping the printing step.Would definitely buy this product again, as well as other products from this company
★★★★★ Five StarsThough this ball may be on the pricier side of the dog ball spectrum, trust me it's totally worth it. Super bouncy, minty, easy to clean. My Pit hasn't destroyed and she constantly plays with it (her new favorite toy). She's had it since Christmas (2 months). This compared to the Kong black ball, she loves this more and though this toy may be softer and seem weaker she has yet to mutilate it or put a dent into it. She would put it in her mouth and squish it, where as the Kong ball she'll just chew it up. I would buy from planet dog again.UPDATE:After 2 years of continually rough play, my dog has finally got to it. For the price you pay and the company's exceptional customer service, your money is well spent on purchasing this ball for your aggressive power chewer.
★★★★★ Five StarsI bought this for my pitbull puppy, Hershey, for Christmas. I gave it to him when he was about 11 months old and he instantly took a liking to it. Two months later, it is still intact, which is incredible! Our Hershey destroys most toys very easily. I think what makes this toy last is the fact that it has a hole through the middle so when he chomps down it just squeeze the ball making no damage to the materials. He loves the way it bounces. Since it's not a perfect circle, he can't predict it's movements. He carries it around and purposefully drops it. Chases it, picks it up and drops it again. It's entertaining for him and for us. I just bought him the Snowball one too and so far he's liking that one just as much!
★★★★★ Five StarsMy dog absolutely loves this toy! I got it for her as a puppy and she still still comes back to it to play with. I've had it now for 3 years and it's like it's brand new! I have since bought other products through Planet Dog and have never been disappointed! It is super sturdy despite the fact that my dog is a big chewer it has survived many years. Would by again but don't need to since it's still perfect after all these years.
★★★★★ Five StarsOur (2) 95 lb. dogs love this ball. We had a previous one that was given to us when they were puppies. After 3 years it finally got a crack in it and I was so glad to find it here again to replace it. Both our dogs are big chewers and the GSD is especially hard on toys. For the initial one to have lasted 3 years with him chomping on it speaks volumes!
