★★★★★ Five Stars***UPDATE***I've overcome my initial reservations about build quality and have come to appreciate it for what it is, an inexpensive, sturdy groming table for light use. I rasied my review to 5 star based on value. I like the foldover arm design because it allows me to place the dog on first and then swing the arm overhead. If you're grooming dogs of many sizes, you might want to invest in a high quality arm/bracket that adjusts more smoothly. I initially had some regrets over the purchase but now I feel comfortable recommending it.***ORIGINAL REVIEW***Table works fine and is great for grooming. If you have a small-med size dog and want to groom at home, get a table like this. If you also happen to have an office chair that adjusts in height and has rolling wheels, you'll be able to have great ergonomics at any angle while grooming your pet.My review is focused on the product quality, which is less than I expected.PROS:-The table top is grooved and rubbery so pet and grooming tools don't slip and slide.-The table, arm and bracket are sturdy and stable.-The arm collapses, making it easier to store in a small space. (be aware you will need to remove the arm from the table when you fold the table)CONS:-The black powder coat finish is more like black spray paint and can scrape off. The arm that came with mine has a heavily scratched area where all the finish was scraped off.-The arm adjustment knob works pretty crudely and doesn't let you have control of friction as you adjust the arm height. As a result, if you loosen the knob to adjust the height, it can be stubborn and grabby pulling it up and then suddenly it might decide to collapse freely going down. You'll need to let go completely of your pet in order to use both hands to move the arm.-The folding leg mechanism is a bit funky and requires some finesse to get it to lock without going too far. If you go past the locking point, you have to carefully work the mechanism back to the other side by prying the bars apart slightly.-The table top on mine is slightly curved, so it makes me wonder if it will continue to warp over time.I'm very glad I bought a grooming table. Were I to have to replace it, I'm not sure I'd choose this brand again. It's functional and rugged and will definitely give you a secure platform for grooming. I collapse mine for storage and the funky leg locks and the grabby arm adjuster haunt me every time I set it up for use.
★★★★★ Five StarsI didn't know I needed this until I got it, as strange as that sounds. I was grooming our shihtzu puppy on my lap and I needed at least 2 more hands. This makes it so much easier! I am not even using the arm with the collar on it at this time, but will as we both become more comfortable with it all. I was so afraid he was going to slip off and hang himself, even while I had my hands on him every second. He is a 4 month old puppy and pretty wild to groom so I am just putting him on the table, which is a perfect height for both of us (I'm 5'5"). Having him on the non slip surface makes it easier for both of us and he is getting more calm as he gets use to everything. Quite a difference from our older poodle we just lost who would sit like a little angel every grooming time, but we'll get there. In the meantime, this table is solid and well built and is a tremendous help.UPDATE 12-31-2011: I have used this every day for Sheldon and I still think it is the best hundred bucks I've spent for his grooming. He sits calmly for me now and loves his grooming times. This table makes it easy to brush his entire body and take care of his teeth, ears and eyes in just minutes. Love it!
★★★★★ Five StarsAbout the same product we had thirty years ago and probably same mfg. Sturdy, well made, easy to set up and the slip proof, ridged top is nicely set in. Don't feed treats on this table because crumbs will be a challenge to get out of the grooved surface unless you vacuum it regularly. Same with grooming powders, these will become lodged in the ridges unless you vacuum after every groom. Good product and very useful; well priced overall. The grooming arm is well made and sturdy and the noose strong but as many groomers and show people have found out, NEVER leave any dog unattended even for a few moments while in the noose. Some have returned to find the dog hung itself from the noose loop. Gradually teach your dog to accept the table, by placing him on it daily for a few minutes, petting and praising. When he has accepted the table, then begin the grooming routine.NOTE: this table does not have the wheels at the base to turn it into a mini dolly. It's not a simple easy store solution so you might just leave it unfolded in some permanent corner of a room.
