★★★★★ Five StarsIt's hard to believe that something as simple as a dog brush could be made better but these people have done it. With a 100+ lb yellow lab/golden retriever mix & a 60 lb chocolate lab, we KNOW about dog hair. Now we can brush the dogs (which they both seem to enjoy), click the button, wipe off the loose hair & toss it into the waste can. We can't wait until spring to see this tool make our house stay a lot cleaner! As I reread this review, it sounds like it must be phony, but really it's not - because THE BRUSH IS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER!Additional comment: I have now purchased another one of these for my stepdaughter, for my stepson's fiancée, and for my wife's niece. All report they are as amazed and pleased with these as I am ! ! !
★★★★★ Five StarsSorry about the title.... hehe .... But, it's nice. This dog brush is way nicer than the photos show.First off, as soon as you remove it from the packaging, you'll notice the handle. The handle is so cool and bizarre - compared to any other brush handle I have ever felt. It has a solid handle in the center. So, its strong. But, its surrounded with something like gel. It is squishy and conforms to your hand. It's such a comfortable handle. I really am so happy with it.I also love the fact that the bristles hide inside when not in use. The button in the back is so easy to use. You just click it for the bristles to come out. They'll stay out firmly, as if they were always out. But, when you put them away, they are away. This feature also makes it so nice to clean the flat part of the brush. This is definitely a 5 star product. I wish I could give it more stars. I also bought the dematting brush from this company. It's really nice as well.I was lucky enough to purchase this item for a small discount in exchange for testing it and leaving my honest feedback afterwards. I am a longtime Amazon consumer and also rely on honest feedback. So, this is soley my opinion.
★★★★★ Five StarsI have included a photo of the two brushes I purchased. The smaller one I needed for a poodle puppy. It it suppose to have a push button to remove the hair But the base just pushes out to push hair off the brush. The grey GoPet is far superior in every way!! The tines pull inside for both storage and to remove hair. The hair does not just drop to the floor either. I keep a paper towel on hand and wipe the brush with this. Makes clean up super easy! I love the handle too. It has a soft rubber type grip so it does not slip out of my hand. Just a beautiful brush. I wish they had a smaller version for small dogs.
★★★☆☆Three StarsThe handle fell off as soon as I took it out of the package. I probably could have returned it, but I super-glued it back together and it seems fine. The push-button retractor works well, at least for now. It's a lot bigger than I expected it to be; might be too big to use on a cat.
★★★★★ Five StarsThree cats. Tried several other brushes. Those were either too rough (pulled out the fur by force) or too soft (didn't grab any fur), and the fur babies ran whenever they saw one in my hand. I was at a loss until I decided to give this a try. Absolutely love it! All three cats now look forward to being brushed, which will make our lives easier. Definitely a thumbs (or paws) up!
★★★★★ Five StarsI have two cats and one will "ask" to be brushed using the old type bristle brush. The 2nd cat is somewhat indifferent to brushing. With this Slicker brush, they compete for who is being brushed. As I brush one the other one is pushing his way in to be brushed and I can tell by their purring that they are thoroughly enjoying it. This brush removes so much more loose fur that I am sure it will cut down on them suffering from "hairballs" and throwing them up. I also use this brush on my Maltese breed dog and he loves it too. It leaves his tail fur silky looking and his body fur softer feeling and improves his appearance quite a lot. I love the push button cleaning system which is 100 % effective in cleaning this brush. I only wish I had bought one of these brushes years ago.
★★★★★ Five StarsNot only do I love this brush but my Maine Coon cat just loves it also. All I have to do is let him see the brush and he comes running to get brushed. He will roll all around so that I can get all of him and he will even direct my hand to where he is wanting brushed next. He is a long haired kitty and is brushed about every day. I have never seen a cat like to be brushed like a dog does until my Loki.Thank you, Go Pet people, this brush is a real winner in my book.
★★☆☆☆Two StarsFirst off, I love the retractable bristles. My cat’s hair flies everywhere whenever I brush him—and I mean everywhere—so it’s super convenient to just press a button and swipe off the hair in one fell swoop. It’s also got a nice cushy handle that gives it a nice grip. However, my praise for the brush stops there. As an actual brush, though, it doesn’t function anywhere near as well as my Furminator (though the Furminator has a major flaw too—the hair has nowhere to go and ends up flying everywhere). It takes a lot of brushing just to get some minimal hair onto the brush (as opposed to one brush from my Furminator, it’ll take this brush 15 times to shed the same amount of hair). The other issue is that the brush is a tad too large for my cat (he’s on the larger side too). It’s hard to brush his legs and head/neck because of its size.I think this brush might better suit longer-hair animals, but definitely not for my British shorthair or beagle (tried it on the dog since it didn’t work so well on the cat).
