My dog, Bandit, is 1.) a super strong chewer and 2.) too smart for the Kong.Bandit was stumped and fascinated the first time he played with The Pickle. He know the drill with the Kong - throw it, bounce it, treats come out. He tried playing with The Pickle the same way and was shocked when the treats didn't come out. I supervised him, seeing how he was problem solving to get the treats out. I used semi-soft Zuke's training treats for the first try. I don't know who was more excited, me or Bandit, when he figured how to get the treats out!!!! He is currently panting and very proud of his accomplishment.I'm going to try treats with different textures and different challenge levels. AWESOME TOY!! LONG LIVE THE PICKLE!!!

This is my second Pickle Pocket purchase. The first, my husband and I bought from Petco for a considerably higher price. I don't think this is any real fault of the product though - our Labrador girl, Honey, just really goes to town on this guy every single day! She's so spoiled, I know.We started to notice a small piece on the original one start to tear away very slightly so didn't want to chance her pulling it off and swallowing it so ordered a replacement on Amazon. Bear in mind though, that was a good 4 years (yes, 4 years) after buying the first one!You certainly don't have to fill the pickle with the wavy treats made for this product. We actually stuff it with a little plain deli turkey to keep her busy. The main reason why we even purchased this guy in the first place was to give Honey some mental stimulation. Being a lab and like any other smart breed, she needs something to do or figure out to keep her out of trouble. At nearly 12 years old, lots of exercise is sadly becoming harder for her. We can't get her to expend her energy that way anymore so the pickle has become a great alternative to keep her happy and her mind active, yet she can still rest at the same time. In fact, she loves it so much, she seeks out this green thing every day, at the same time, like clockwork. We highly recommend this product and we're all sure your fur babies will too. She's quite the chewer at nearly 90lbs too by the way, so durability especially for a big breed has been great too.

I bought 2 to begin with...I have three little dogs, including an italian greyhound/russell mix, and a larger 58 pound golden retriever mix and wasn't sure if the dogs would like them. The large dog can chew on this and get every little bit of treat out. The smaller dogs work on it for awhile. I put cheese, peanut butter, dog treats, you name it, in the openings. I like this better than a Kong because I had my dog get his lower jaw inside one once and so I am always a little leary of them now. The only dog who "likes" not "loves" the pickle is my short nosed dog. He has a hard time with kongs though, too. Anyway, I bought 2 more. I now have one for each dog. They are large, like a large kong, but my small dogs enjoy them! Also, I find these easier to clean than a kong.
